A TREE BY THE SEA

Writing has never really been a passion but in the last year I have been inspired to write more. I have journaled off and on for years, but recently it has changed. I hope that some of the things I write are inspiring to others and help people to see that God is real and personal. A huge realization for me has been that I can come into His presence anytime I want. The shed blood of Jesus is a portal into the heavenly realm. When I apply it to myself I am able to access the living God. I  hope that through my words others are able to see that they too have that same access.

I share some very personal things about me on this blog. In real life I am a fairly quiet person. I have been married for 15 years to an unruly boy that I met in grade school. We have two of our own boys and one little girl.  I live in the Pacific Northwest and I work as a registered nurse. I love reading a great book, and watching TV in the evenings with my husband. I love going to sushi with the amazing girls in my life and spending time with my large extended family. My favorite moments though, are the times that I get to experience the Spirit of God. I can feel His presence in me and around me when I have my heart turned towards Him.

I feel like I am constantly living on the edge of two worlds. There is the one where I am normal Jessica who goes about my day volunteering at my children’s school, taking care of patients at the hospital, running errands, and cleaning my house. But there is this other person who longs to know the One who created her. She desires to see Him and be changed by knowing Him. This Jessica, gets glimpses of this other reality that shakes her and leaves her wanting more. This blog is a place for these two to meet.
